Charlie has 20 years of structural engineering experience in building and bridge design that succeeds a 10-year career in construction. He has assisted architects and design/ build contractors in identifying and minimizing complexities in structural framing systems. Constructability is a key element of his designs while capturing the ideas of the architect in an efficient design. Experiencing different aspects of engineering early in his engineering career and practicing within large A/E design firms, afforded him the opportunity to complete large, complex projects from concept to shovel in numerous states. Charlie’s structural designs include food process modifications, industrial facilities, power/energy upgrades, hospital additions, healthcare and medical facilities, K-12 educational campuses, multistory buildings, highway bridges, wastewater treatment facilities, military training structures, and government centers. Specialty work includes AT/FP design, liquid storage tanks, process and material handling equipment supports, and forensic investigations into property damage. Complementing his creative structural designs is his education in geotechnical engineering and construction experience, providing a complete structural package from the ground up. Charlie’s hands-on work experience in construction, as a foreman for a commercial contractor, gave him the confidence to lead and the tools to succeed in his engineering career managing projects and resources. He is experienced in managing forecast workloads, developing budgets, scheduling personnel, and assisting in marketing. Charlie holds an M.S. in Structural Engineering and B.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering and is a Professional Engineer in Ohio and several other states..
