Meet Jonathan! Jonathan is one of Plus Groups’ Structural Engineers with over ten years of experience in the oil & gas, chemical, and industrial industries. As a Structural Engineer, Jonathan analyzes the structure of new and existing buildings and develops detailed engineering designs for contractors and owners. Throughout his career, Jonathan has provided critical project oversight, delivering construction support and 3D design plans for jobs ranging in size and scope, including emergency repairs in disaster relief zones. Jonathan’s technical knowledge of software tools and his ability to utilize modern 3D modeling makes him an asset to Plus Group.
As a kid, Jonathan remembers being fascinated by bridges and how they were built but didn’t pursue engineering until he was investigating where to attend college. After searching through UC’s marketing material, he landed on engineering, and the rest was history. Jonathan later completed both his B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Structural Engineering at The University of Cincinnati.
A typical day for Jonathan starts with an early morning run and workout. After that, he heads down to his home office and gets straight to work on 3D models and structural analysis. Jonathan is described as extremely efficient and smart, two things that make him excellent at his job. However, he attributes his success to his hard work and immense knowledge of various industry software. Knowing this, he advises young engineers to become technically proficient and familiar with industry programs.
One of Jonathan’s favorite things about working for Plus Group is the people. In fact, if he had to describe Plus Group in three words, Jonathan would choose: organized, helpful, and engaging. Working from home in Denver has been challenging, but Jonathan is thankful to have knowledgeable colleagues who are helpful and always willing to assist.
Fun Fact: Jonathan briefly quit his job to become a professional poker player!
