Meet our Employee Spotlight- Robert Henshaw, IT Consultant and Subject Matter Expert at the Plus Group. With over two decades of experience in IT management, system implementation, and network management, Robert brings a unique blend of leadership and technical skill to the Plus Group.
Robert is well-versed in a myriad of hardware and software applications and has built, developed, and implemented systems architecture and network solutions for the renewable fuel industry as well as the United States Military.
Robert started his career in the United States Air Force as an aircraft carrier mechanic, deploying all over the globe and spending several years stationed in both Okinawa and Germany. After a few years, Robert was ready for a change and one of his mentors suggested that he transition into an IT role. Robert took his mentor’s advice and spent the next 8 years working as a Systems Engineer and System Administrator responsible for implementing communication networks and server architectures in remote locations for the Air Force.
After 11 years, Robert moved into the private sector as a System Engineer and Senior IT Specialist for an aerospace and defense technology company and later for a gaming technology manufacturer. Robert developed IT infrastructure strategies and managed the server architecture and enterprise network for a renewable fuels processing plant. Watching his solutions come together is what keeps Robert motivated, knowing he’s provided secure high-performing design for his customer.
Robert describes Plus Group as the ‘total package’ when it comes to engineering, design, and automation. He noticed a shift in culture that made him at feel at ease and knew that Plus Group was the right place. Robert says that Plus Group has the perfect blend of resources and talent of a large company but with a small company feel that’s employee focused and team oriented.
