Plus Group created a tailored lesson plan for customer site personnel on Siemens Step7 as part of Academy365. The training was customized to their site for their new electrical technicians. The training was led by a Plus Group Senior Engineer and included four sessions with two students in each session. The training covered numerous topics designed for Siemens control and the customer. A detailed training schedule and materials were provided.

    • Overview of Siemens systems and products
      • Siemens PLCs & Terminology
      • Siemens vs. Rockwell differences and understanding
      • Siemens programming styles and understanding
      o Statement programming style overview and understanding
      • Setting up and connection to S7 PLC
      • Going online with PLC to view live data values
      o Forcing I/O values
      o State checking
      • PROFIBUS Overview and networking
      o Setting up and troubleshooting PROFIBUS connections
      • Best practices for troubleshooting Siemens based equipment
      • Troubleshooting of example issues (simulated)
      • Live system troubleshooting / modifications with guidance from instructor
  • Trainees attending were able to get hands-on experience with the software inside the training laptops, and practiced troubleshooting with actual programs from the plant floor.
  • Maintenance personnel who received training gave feedback that they were much more comfortable in being able to perform their daily duties.
  • Plus Group provided skills evaluations to management informing them of their personnel’s’ strengths and weaknesses.
